Catch Up

Over a week since my last post...oops.  Oh well, Doug & sometimes Mom are the only "visible" readers of the blog.  Everyone else falls into the "stalker" category!  :)

We had a great Christmas!  Angie, Emma, & I volunteered at Christmas Eve service at 11AM and then we all went to the 1PM service.  After the service I was able to give some gifts my Community Group had bought for a family in need.  A little bit of "pass it on" this Christmas.  For a warm fuzzy, read this:

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart...I will never forget this Christmas...when all hope was lost...I gave it to God and he took care of it...God bless you all for saving Christmas...for my children...thank you so much...Merry Christmas to you and yours..

Amazing what a difference we can make we step away from our own selfish lives for a minute.

Christmas Eve we watched a movie, had some appetizers, opened a couple presents (PJs and new movies of course!), changed into PJs, went and looked at Christmas lights, watched a new movie, and then bed (for kids).  The kids started a tradition a year or so ago where they all sleep in the same bedroom Christmas Eve.  Angie & I then were up till about 2am getting presents wrapped (and watching Christmas movies).

Christmas day was great and we are truly a blessed family.  The kids were great and seemed to enjoy all their new bounty!

Thought of the Day

“Three phrases that sum up Christmas are: Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men, and Batteries not Included.”

Thought of the Day

"This is Christmas: not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving, not even the carols, but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ."

Christmas Program

The kids had their Christmas program tonight.  As usual it was awesome to watch the kids sing, put on skits, recite Christmas story verses, and have a good time.

Tree Trimming

We decorated all 3 trees yesterdays.  It was a good time with the kids, and Emma even stayed downstairs with us for a good part of the day!  We listened to Christmas music, watched a couple Christmas movies, had some Chinese food for lunch and just enjoyed the day.  Emma did have a 2hr volleyball practice last night...but she likes that too.  The Kenney Krewe is blessed!

Nicholas, not Mommy's favorite?

My son after he found the singing Rudolf and pushed the button again, "Does it annoy you?" Me, "Nope." His reply while pushing the button yet again, "Hmm. It will." I see coal in that boys future. (From Angie's facebook)

Sure glad he doesn't get that from me!

Thought of the Day

May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessings all year through.

TGIF

It's Friday!  A busy week for the Kenney Krewe.  Monday was volleyball for Emma & gymnastics for Katelyn, Tuesday was community group for Ang & I, Wednesday was gymnastics for Katelyn and community group for Emma, Thursday was volleyball for Emma and gymnastics for Katelyn, and tonight Emma has piano-Katelyn has drums-and Angie is going to listen to a friend's husband sing in a choir.  I'll try to finish putting out the Christmas decorations.

We had 75 degree weather earlier in the week...way too hot for December!  It's cooled down now to a high in low 50s.  Anybody want to send some snow this way?

12 Years Old!

How did this happen?  Who let her continue to grow up and be 12?  Sometimes I still see this:
or this:
but somehow she's growing up on me.  12 years old...almost a TEENAGER!  A pretty low key birthday yesterday.   She went to school and got a couple presents there, came home and she opened presents which included some new volleyball shorts/shirts, and then she went to her 1st traveling volleyball league practice (2 1/2hrs).  She had a great time and I think she's really going to enjoy it.

Today she's having about 4 friends get together and we're taking them for dessert, a scavenger hunt, and then lunch at a local Italian/pizza place we like.

Camping Trip

Nick & I got a camping trip in last weekend.  We went to Chickahominy Riverfront park over by Williamsburg.  The weather was nice and co...
