Soccer Season
Soccer season officially started today with the LWA Lions 1st game. In a 4-2 win, the Lions won their 1st game in a long time! They played great and the experience of our new soccer coach was clearly evident. A couple 4th graders even got to be subs and play some..including Katelyn! They haven't practiced with the team at all, but were brought with to fill out the bench. Katelyn did great during her time in. She's quick on the field but will need some practice on her kicking ability. From the game, I took Katelyn to gymnastics and Angie took Emma to volleyball. They should both sleep well tonight!
My poor car has a new issue. The passenger side mirror is hanging by the cord! It's been loose for awhile but somebody must have run into it, bounced a ball off it, or something to break it completely loose. Hoping I don't have to spend much $ to fix it.

Yellow Invasion
Pollen is attacking! A yellow dust covers everything. After a day of rain yesterday, everything is covered again today. The inside of my truck is even covered! Yuck
Nicholas lost his 2 front teeth today at school! He's pretty excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight. He kept showing me how he can put his tongue between his teeth now.
We had a busy and fun day on Sunday. Katelyn had a gymnastic meet 1st thing in the morning. After it was over (just after lunch) we all went to the movies and saw Lorax. It was pretty good, and Emma is quoting Dr Seuss all the time now. After the movie we went to Olive Garden for an early dinner. After about an hour at home we went to church. Amazing movement in WEC...raised over $1.1M in one time donations and year long commitments. They are opening their 3rd campus this fall.
Katelyn fell off her stool at the counter tonight! They are counter height vs. Bar height so she has to sit on her knees. She was moving around and "bam!" off she fell on the floor. She was fine, just a few tears from embarrassment I think. I guess we should get new stools one of these days.

Monday
We had a good weekend. Emma had a volleyball tournament in Williamsburg on Saturday. The team played much better then their last tournament. They beat every team, except one, at least once. The one bad thing of the day was my laptop dying! It has been acting funny for awhile and it took it's last go on Saturday.
Sunday was a day filled with house chores such as laundry and 1st of the year mowing and yard prep. Raked up the last of the winter mess, mowed, trimmed, put roundup on the weeds in the mulched area and driveway/sidewalks, and put some fertilizer down. Katelyn went with her neighbor friend to William & Mary college to watch the gymnastics team. She says she really enjoyed it and came back with a signed team poster.
I left VA early this morning and am in North Dakota for the week. 70 degrees here today!

3 things in 21 days
Who wants to do a little challenge with me? For the next 21 days write down 3 things about your spouse or your marriage. Do it everyday and don't repeat anything.
Write on paper, the computer, your phone, but do it everyday in the same place. At the end of 21 days let's see how blessed we are!

Speed Racer, Arthritis & "Zert"
Nicholas has a new obsession...it's Speed Racer! I found it on Netflix a couple weeks ago and that's all he wants to watch now I haven't told him there's a movie too!

Arthritis = really? I went in for a Dr appointment this week to get my blood pressure renewed. It's great by the way and the 1 single low dosage pill is doing it's job. However, I told the Dr that my knee was swelling just a bit especially after kneeling on it or something. She looked/felt it and told me I probably have arthritis in it! It doesn't really hurt unless I put pressure on it so hopefully it's just inflamed for some reason and will go away!
Zert ... any body have a guess? Nicholas kept calling dessert this. For some reason he thought it began with a Z so this is what he was saying until we figured out why.

Group, Grey Hair, and Love
Another busy week in the Kenney Krewe household. I was overloaded at work this week as we were hosting an Intelligence Conference for all of our units across the Command. So I spent most of the day in briefings, presentations, etc. while still trying to get a little regular work done 1st thing in the morning and after the conference would each day after 5pm.
We had our community group as normal on Tuesday evening and had some very good discussions. Something one our members said (thanks Mark!) that night really touched a cord with me and helped me. It's awesome to have others near that can help you life! (As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17)
We had a small family crisis this week with a bad decision on Emma's part. Her anger clouded her better judgement that led to a poor decision that caused some huge emotional stress, pain, worry, joy, relief, anger, mistrust, confusion, and love. All those feelings shouldn't go together but in the course of one evening we felt them all. The life of a 12yr old can be hard with all the emotions and stress of growing up and Angie & I try to understand and be there as best as we can, but obviously we're still "parents" and won't probably always get the entire story in all situations. A hard pill to swallow and I want to say I love you to my Mom & Dad for the times I'm sure I put you thru similar feelings.

A Week In Review
A week away from the blog as I was in New Mexico, again. So, what's happened this past week:
- Katelyn was baptized last Sunday! You can watch a compilation video of the baptisms here: http://vimeo.com/37687469 and see Katelyn at about the 32 second mark
- After church we went for a celebration dinner...where else but Ruby Tuesday...Katelyn loves the salad bar!
- I left Monday for another trip out to Alamogordo, NM; had some good Mexican food but also got to experience a day of blowing sand. Almost felt like I was deployed again!
- Received news that Doug probably has a renter for his house in Bainbridge! Awesome!
- Sounds like Angie's kids at school are enjoying the new computer/library room we worked on last weekend...glad to hear our efforts paid off
- I flew home Friday with a cold/sinus infection I picked up Thursday. My ears didn't clear and I haven't been able to hear anything since...
- Angie's birthday was Friday! What a gift I brought for her...a sick husband! Love you honey. I'm a very lucky man to have you.
If you can find a truly good wife, she is worth more than precious gems! (Proverbs 31:10)
- Katelyn spent Friday night at her best friend's house, she was super excited since it's been quite a while since they've had a sleep over
- Emma had a volleyball tournament on Saturday. One of the teams they played was out of Williamsburg. This team was really good (went to Nationals last year) and put the smack down on our poor team. Our girls handled it well though and will hopefully use it as a good training experience. Our girls team is really young compared to some of the others so we are going to run into some lopsided play.
- We had some friends over last night. Angie & I were trying to teach them how to play a card game that we played with Grandma Jean & Mom when they were out here but we couldn't remember the rules. So I called Grandma! She laughed at me!
