Christmas Thanks

The Kenney Krewe is extremely blessed with all of our family and friends.  We had a such a great Christmas because of it.  From family game nights, to our community group, to WEC Christmas Eve service, to visits from our parents, to fudge from my Grandma, and gifts from those that love us we are a lucky family.  My words of gratitude can't relay our thanks enough.

Snow Storm

We didn't have snow for Christmas morning, but we had a little for Christmas night, but we've got alot today!  Predictions up to 12".  We've got at least 10".  The kids enjoyed playing outside with the neighbors.  I'm thinking Dad & Mary weren't enjoying it though...they came up yesterday afternoon for Christmas and had to drive home in it this morning.  It took them over 2 hours to get to Richmond (normally a 45min drive)!

Snow Days

A snow storm in Hampton Roads lead to TWO cancelled school days.  We had a winter storm roll in Thursday late morning and drop a couple inches of snow and then some sleet/rain.  Things were pretty slick for a few hours, but then the rain kind of helped clear off main roads.  Schools were cancelled again today...I guess because they were worried about side roads being slick.

The kids were happy to get the days off for the most part.  However, the Christmas program was scheduled for Thursday night and then rescheduled for this afternoon.  With school being cancelled both days they didn't get the program in.  :(    Nicholas has his young performers program tomorrow morning, so at least we'll get one in!

Christmas is next weekend!  We might have stuff ready by then, but I think it's going to be close!  We have a family game night tomorrow with a white elephant gift exchange, then our community group Christmas party is Tuesday night with another white elephant gift exchange.

Think about that over the next couple of weeks and maybe spread some Christmas cheer.

Sunday

It's a wet Sunday morning here.  Rained off & on all day yesterday and last night.  I got some more Christmas decorations out yesterday.  We now have 3 trees up!  I think we'll be able to finish getting everything out today.

Angie went to a Christmas cookie exchange yesterday.  She brought home a platter of yummy cookies!  Katelyn had a private gymnastic lesson yesterday with her coach.  She managed to get one of her tricks on the uneven bars (mill circle) that she's been working on for a long time.  It was a good day for her and she was pretty happy about it.  On the way home the kids & I made a stop at Sam's to get some stuff.  While we there Nicholas started complaining pretty bad about his ear hurting.  He continued when we got home so I heated up our bean bag and placed it on his ear.  He was good for a little bit, but then when Angie got home he got worse.  He was even starting to cry.  Angie cleaned out his ears and gave him some medicine.  We were getting pretty close to taking him to the hospital, but then he started feeling better.  An hour later he was good to go!

Off to church this morning then over to Brian & Michele's for football.  Browns vs. Bills!  Go BILLS!

Fall to Winter

Cold weather came early this year in Hampton Roads.  We usually don't get this cold until January.  It's been in the 20s at night and 30s in the day; add in the wind chill and it's been chilly this week.  I've enjoyed it though!  Here are some pics from last weekend:

Birthday Adventures

Emma had a pretty good couple of days.  Enjoyed her birthday day, had a big cookie on Friday at school and then we got her and few of her friends a limo so Angie could take them to the spa and dinner.  A sleep over was then had with 4 girls taking over the family room!

Emma Bean

Wow, time flies.  How can Emma be 11? It just doesn't seem possible.  She's growing up...both as a young lady and in height!  She'll pass Angie shortly!

Oh well, I guess I have to accept it huh?  I still remember the little song I had for her:

My little Emma bean is so sweet
She's cuter than a lima bean
She's cuter than a pinto bean
My little Emma bean is so sweet

Happy Birthday Emma!

As much fun as vacation was, it was sure nice to get home.  The kids played outside with the neighbors, Angie had lunch with Sondra, and I've been watching football and doing laundry.  We even have our 1st fire going in the fireplace tonight.

Back to work tomorrow...yuck!
