March

Hard to believe Feb is gone. The month went by fast. Angie came down with the sickness that has been going thru the house the past several weeks. She sounded pretty bad for a couple days but kept on going. Nicholas got to go to the Living Museum with one of his friends, a girl friend no less-Madeline, on Friday.

I took Angie to the Williamsburg Lodge on Friday. We went to the Pints, Pairings, and Poisoned Dwarf. It was a sit down dinner with each course paired with a different beer. The Poisoned Dwarf was a Celtic band. It was fun, but would have been a bit better if we would have had some people there we knew.

VA appointments

I finally have some movement on my VA disability claim for my AF retirement. I have my 1st appointment at the VA hospital tomorrow. They've scheduled me for 3 total appointments and have requested some additional information from a couple of the civilian hospitals I've visited over the years. Plus they've asked for a release form to get information from the Army hospital I went to in Panama...really...did they miss the U.S. handing the Panama Canal over and the closure of all the military bases there? That hospital doesn't exist anymore!

Sickly week

Katelyn & I stayed home on Thursday. She probably could have gone to school, but was fighting a bad cough and overall tired/run-down. I pretty much was useless Wednesday evening and all day Thursday. I went back to work on Friday, but if I had still been in uniform I probably would have took one more day! I don't have enough sick days built up!

Katelyn & Ang are at another gymnastics meet this morning over in VA beach. Hopefully the cough won't bother Katelyn too much when she tries to do her thing. Emma spent the night at a friends house last night. Nicholas & I will go pick her up here in a little bit.

Way to go Katelyn

Katelyn had a gymnastics meet yesterday and placed 5th all around! She was psyched...this was her 1st time placing all around.

Angie & I enjoyed the made up chocolate, flowers, buy a card day yesterday by watching the Olympics and some DIY home shows, reading the paper, and doing some school work. She's the best!

Basketball

Here's a little bit of Emma (#11) during basketball season. The 4th graders got to play on the team with the older kids. Basketball is not her favorite and she's not very aggressive, but she improved as the year went on. She's hard to see...she's on the far side of the court.

Squirrels

We have a squirrel problem again, this time in the attic. Emma's been hearing sounds in her ceiling and sure enough when I went up in the attic this weekend I saw a couple. Had the animal control guy (we call him the squirrel terminator) was here yesterday and found the entry point around one of the attic gable vents. He set put some wire around the hole to force them one way and put out some traps to catch them. Hopefully in a couple days we'll be squirrel free!

Good Weekend

We have snow! Amazing. We got about 6 inches on Sat. The kids had a good time playing outside in it. Especially Emma. For the girl that is always cold inside I can't believe how long she stayed outside! Nicholas wasn't feeling real good on Sat, stuffed up nose/congestion real bad. He kept sucking it all in and made himself sick a couple times. He was much better yesterday. Emma and Katelyn played outside again yesterday and met the new neighbor girls across the street. Then finally I took the kids to the movies yesterday afternoon...we saw Tooth Fairy.

Angie and the kids don't have school today (canx due to snow); I'm on a 2-hour delay. I'm getting ripped off!
