A shutterfly booth set of pictures from a wedding we attended this weekend.  I love this woman more and more each day!

Friday

TGIF! The kids had their school program, "SPRING FLING", last night. Everybody did really well. The props Angie did for her class looked really good and Katelyn did a great job on her part. Nicholas got to do a black light production so he seemed pretty proud of himself. Emma did a wonderful job on her skit...had to pretend to be crying...she did it well! I'll try to get some video clips off the camcorder this weekend and post them.

Have a great weekend!

Awkward

Weekend Blur

Monday already, wow. Busy weekend and end of last week. I went TDY to Pope AFB in NC last Thu/Fri. Worked out well because I was able to spend the night at Dad & Mary's. Was good to see them and chit chat. Fri night when I got home we all went over to a friends house and just hung out for awhile. Sat morning Nicholas had gymnastics and KT had a gymnastics show. After gymnastics Nicholas, Emma, and I went to lunch at a local BBQ place...good stuff! From there we went over to some other friends and helped with some pre-wedding stuff. They get married this weekend down at Yorktown beach at the Waterman's Museum. Angie made it over a little later minus KT. She went and spent the whole day/evening with her best friend, Jennie. We came home around 7ish (after Nicholas & I made a quick stop at a car show that was wrapping up) and had some other friends over. They weren't able to stay long since Chuck came down with a killer headache. Sunday we built some boxes and mountains out of plywood for Angie's class for the kids Spring Fling later this week. I got them built and Angie got them spray painted. Just need to put the braces on the mountains tonight.

We also uncovered the pool yesterday...yuck! What a cesspool of nasty water. I guess the cover blowing off this winter and letting leaves and such in really created a mess. We decided it was best just to drain, so that's what we did yesterday. Nasty, nasty water! It's empty (minus a few inches on the bottom still) with lots of leaves on the bottom. I'm going to have to get in and get rid of all the leaves and then do some scrubbing on the walls and bottom to clean it out. Hopefully we'll be able to get water in it by the end of the week.

Black Eye Update

A picture now of Nicholas and his black eye; can't really see it in the picture anymore.  He has a pretty good black line under his eye as opposed to an overall black eye.  Shopping at Walmart is dangerous!

Walmart Accident

Shopping cart gone wild!  Nicholas was reaching for the shopping cart at the same time I was and when I pulled it to me it went over a bump causing it to teeter to one side and smash him in the face!  He had a nice big shiner under his eye...even had a mark from the bolt on the cart! He cried pretty loud for a couple minutes.

Week in Review

Another week down in the Kenney household.  Nothing too exciting this week; a couple soccer games for Emma, gymnastics practice for Katelyn, community group on Tuesday night, Cooking for Life meeting for Ang, and a sick Nicholas on Friday.  He came down with a pretty good fever Thu night, felt OK Friday morning to go to school, but then went down hill so I left work early to bring him home.

Nicholas has also decided to drop out of T-ball.  He gets "bored catching".  Can't blame him...unless they are playing 1st base not alot of action goes their way!  We didn't want to force him to do it and then end up hating baseball so we've let him stop going.

I need to get the yard mowed before the rain moves in sometime today.  Hopefully we do get some, we're starting to be pretty dry.  Saw on the news the other day that we're in the very beginnings of the drought stages...nothing serious yet but soon could be if we don't get some rain.

Six more weeks till Disney! Nicholas is getting pretty excited.  They've all found their lanyard and pins from last time so they can get more and begin the trading with the staff.

State

We spent the weekend in Danville, VA for Katelyn's state gymnastics meet.  She did great!  Received her best score on 3 events!  Struggled a bit on the 4th (usually one of her best), but in the end her best overall score ever!
A few pictures of the star...

Her best friend (pink shirt, multi color pants) is watching her in background.  Look hard in the stands & you'll find us.

Thought of the Day

“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.” (James Dean)

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8)

Pix of the Day

Sunday

A beautiful weekend so far...awesome weather and lots of laughter.  Katelyn spent the night at Jordan's (gymnastics friend) Friday night after gymnastics.  We had friends over Friday night and enjoyed some wine, food, and Setttlers (board game)!  We were able to sit outside on the patio for awhile too...nice weather!

Yesterday I fought a bad back off & on all day (not feeling 100%) today either, but we still had a great day.  Emma had piano lessons here at the house; she really enjoys her new teacher.  He's really good and is using both a classical (by the book) and by the ear type of instruction.  She's actually started writing her own song too!  I managed to go to Lowe's in the morning for a few things and then hit a few yard sales in our housing area (community yard sale day).  Found a dart board and Emma a new bike!  We went out with some other friends last night and had a great time!  Laughed HARD.

Thinking about going to Colonial Williamsburg today, depending on how my back feels.

Camping Trip

Nick & I got a camping trip in last weekend.  We went to Chickahominy Riverfront park over by Williamsburg.  The weather was nice and co...
