Camp

The night before camp, and all was quite...mostly.  The girls are excited and ready to head off tomorrow morning  for church camp with Waters Edge Church.  Katelyn is really excited since this is 1st camp.  Once we finally got them to bed (after my 2nd trip to WalMart to get a watch for KT since the 1st one didn't work out of the package!) Katelyn was pretty restless and walked up and down the hallway a couple times.  All seems quite now though.  I pray they have a great time, meet new friends, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Things That Make Me Go Hmmm...

- Why do I have 7 phones in the house that will ring?  How did people manage with 1 rotary phone!

- When the Dr. says this will sting a little why do I want to laugh?

- Why is there Braille on bank drive thru ATMs?

- Why can't I ever spell unfortatenly unfortunately?

- Why is there a warning on Styrofoam peanuts...do people really eat those and go "yumm"?

Gramps

Gramps & Margita are here visiting for a few days.  The kids have kept them busy with time in the pool, a movie (Winnie the Pooh), Chuck e Cheese, the Mariner's Museum, board games, card games, and cartoon watching!  This is between Emma's volleyball camp and Katelyn's gymnastics.

Hot!

It was a hot one today (and yesterday), thank goodness for the pool!  Although it's been so hot the pool was 94 degrees!  It was still nice to play tonight and the kids had a great time with Gramps.

Espresso Anyone?

Angie got me an espresso maker for my birthday and it's awesome.  I'm still trying to learn how to use it though. Last night I think I had about 6 shots of espresso in a couple cappuccino's!  Love it but I was a little wired before bed!

Sunday Evening

My work week in Florida went okay...long days but at least I got some good grouper sandwiches!  Katelyn had her field hockey camp last week and from what I hear really enjoyed it.  Angie said she looked "fierce" in her gear.  Emma has volleyball camp this week and gymnastics start back up for Katelyn.  My week will be slammed trying to catch back up after being gone for 3 weeks.

Another alternator dead in the Kenney family...this time on the Explorer.  Thank goodness it didn't die on us while we were traveling to Florida and back.

We had a party with our community group on Saturday night.  One of the couples in the group (Josh & Amy) are moving to TN so it was kind of a goodbye party as well.  We had a great time in the pool, playing corn hole, darts, eating some burgers/dogs, and great talk.  We'll miss the Hethcox's and pray Josh's practice takes off with amazing speed.

Sunday

We're back home safe and sound.  Two weeks of vacation over in a blink of an eye.  We had a good trip back, minus a complete traffic stoppage on I95 in South Carolina!  Lucky for us after about 45 minutes or so of going about 2mph, we were able to hop off the interstate and let the gps and Angie's map skills get us around the accident and back on the interstate several miles north of it.  It was also a bit strange coming home with 1 less kid...Emma is staying with Grandma & Papa for a week.

We had a fairly lazy day today...I did manage to get the yard mowed since it was a bit high.  Lots of rain while we were gone.  I also got the pool cleaned up and Katelyn/Nicholas were able to swim for a bit.  We also went to Dick's and bought Katelyn some field hockey stuff for her camp this week.

Off on a TDY tomorrow for the week...back down to Florida! Geez...I'm ready for more than a couple days in my own bed.

Independence Day

We had a great Independence Day and were able to close the evening out on Tim & Jan's boat watching fireworks.  What a great view it was from the water...the fireworks looked so big and bright from the boat.

4th of July

Fun in the Pool

Yesterday was a full day in the pool...I'm pretty sure the kids grew fins!  We enjoyed some games of volleyball, watched a pretty good T-Storm roll thru for about an hour, and then had a good BBQ to end the night.  Vacation is great!

WDW Day 3, 4, & 5

We finished our Disney adventure enjoying a day at Epcot, a day at Hollywood Studios, and a few hours at Downtown Disney.  By the 4th day our family was still having fun, but kind of ready to just relax by the pool too!    The kids aren't in to seeing any of the characters (yeah for us...no waiting in the lines!) so we're able to just focus on rides and shows.  Our day at Epcot was pretty rainy, but we managed with ponchos.  All in all we had a great time with Animal Kingdom being our favorite park.
