Home!

The Kenney Krewe spent Thanksgiving in Florida and had a great time with family.  A special thanks to Karen & Archie for having us and opening their house to all of us for a week!  We had a seafood night with lobster (the guys worked hard at getting those lobsters!), crab legs, oysters, mussels, shrimp, and tilapia...it was all delicious!

We had fun in the pool and enjoyed some awesome volleyball matches a couple nights.  I think I went undefeated this year!  The kids had fun helping Grandma Karen cook, helping Papa build a light fixture for the flag pole, playing in the pool, and general fun all around...

We had a great Thanksgiving with 2 turkeys and all the fixings.  Then some football, naps, and turkey sandwiches later in the day!  Perfection.

We went over to Ft. Myers beach one day and saw a sand castle competition.  It was supposed to be a "Winter Wonderland" theme, and some of them were really good.

We made it home with out any airline delays.  It was good to be home, but we did find one thing wrong in the house after a week away.  One of the fridge french doors was left open, so the fridge was completely warm!  Everything was thrown out today.  In addition, it appears with the fridge door open the entire week, the freezer fan ran until it gave out.  We have an error code on the fridge that indicates a problem with the ice maker motor.  Bummer.

Today was spent relaxing, doing laundry (2 weeks behind!), putting fall/Thanksgiving decorations away and up in the attic, and getting Christmas decoration boxes down from the attic.

Now...back to work tomorrow.  Ick!

Weekend

The long weekend is almost over.  I really think we should have 3-day weekends every week!

Katelyn had her 1st gymnastics meet of the year in Williamsburg.  She was pretty stressed out the night before and had some nerves going on her 1st apparatus - the beam.  She recovered nicely though and ended up with scores high enough to qualify for sectionals!  She was super happy the rest of the day. Here she is as we're about ready to walk out the door.
She also got her new drum set this weekend.  They are a full set, so we made room in the garage vs. putting them up in her bedroom.

Doug sent Nicholas his old bass and it got here this weekend too.  He's pretty excited, but the thing is about as tall as he is!  He can sit down and lay it in his lap to pluck at it though.

I'm off to Vegas tomorrow.  Too bad I don't like Vegas...that would make my trips there more enjoyable!

Home!

I'm back after a week in San Antonio.  The weather was warm and the flights went fine, but it's good to be home.  I get to enjoy a long weekend before I head out again.  I'll spend next week in Vegas...well actually a place in the desert outside of Vegas.

Katelyn's new drum set got here yesterday...now we just have to get them together and set up.  She's pretty excited.  Haven't decided if they can fit in her room or if we'll make a place in the garage for them.

Presidential election over!  I'm happy the flyers and phone calls will stop flooding our house.  Now it's time for them to get the "fiscal cliff" fixed so I can stop worrying about a potential civilian furlow or cuts!

Week in Review

We made it thru Sandy without any problems.  Our backyard was a big pond for a couple days and I think there was more water back there then we've had in any previous storm, but it never made it to the house.  Schools and work were closed on Monday as that's when the bulk of the wind and more rain came thru.

On Halloween we enjoyed a nice night in.  Nicholas decided he didn't want to go trick or treating, probably because he already had a bag full of candy from the school harvest fair.  So we turned our porch light off, gave the candy to the kids, and watched TV together as a family!

Some cooler weather has rolled in after Sandy left and we've actually had to turn the heat on.  We still keep it no higher then 68, but I'm not sure we'd make if we ever moved back to the midwest!

The favorite quote from this week goes to Katelyn.  From Angie's Facebook wall...
Loves that when I read this bumper sticker: "God's last name is NOT damn", the middle said, "You mean like the water dam? I don't get it." The oldest had to explain that it was a curse word.

Going to the movies today and then hopefully some college football watching.

Camping Trip

Nick & I got a camping trip in last weekend.  We went to Chickahominy Riverfront park over by Williamsburg.  The weather was nice and co...
