School Fundraiser

It's that time of year again, school fundraisers.  This is the one with Virginia Diner peanuts.  Let us know if you want something or it's easy to order online at www.virginiadiner.com.  The kids will thank you!

1. Select your product category from the left column.

2. Select your item and quantity then select “Add to Cart”.

3. When finished click the “Shopping Cart” tab on the upper right of the page.

4. Select the Region that the organization raising the money is located. (Virginia - All Other)

5. Select the school/organization name from the drop down list. (Living Word Academy)

6. Type in the Participant's Name.

Kitchen Update #7

It's really coming together now.  The counter top was installed yesterday and looks amazing!  Angie & I brought  in the wine fridge and put it in last night.  The contractor is supposed to be coming today to hopefully finish up the walls, put the wood caps on the 1/2 walls, put the hardware on the cabinets, install sink/faucet/dishwasher, and some of the final stuff.  Then the next big thing is the glass tile back splash on Thursday.

Harvest Fair

The kids had Harvest Fair at school yesterday.  Nicholas won a 3rd place ribbon for his Veterinarian costume. Katie was a Living Word Academy fan (with one of her friends) and Emma was Noah's Ark.  She made the Ark out of cardboard and wore it over her shoulders.  She did a great job.  We were supposed to be going to a Trick or Trunk party this afternoon, but I'm guessing it will be cancelled.  Nothing but rain scheduled for today.

Volleyball Player

Emma tried out for a travel Volleyball league last weekend.  She had try outs on both Sat and Sun.  She found out Tuesday that she made the team!  She was extremely happy about it.  Angie found out today that she's on the "gold" team, but we don't have any idea what that means yet.  Great job Emma!

Thought of the Day

Model

The wife (Carmaleta) of the girls music instructor (Patrick) does photography and took a few pictures of Nicholas this weekend while waiting for the girls to finish their lessons.  I guess he was an unwilling model at 1st, but as soon as the camera was out he hammed it up!

Kitchen Update #6

There's been a little lull in activity in the kitchen as far as big visible items go.  However, the walls have had another coating of mud on them, the stove electrical was run, and some leveling of the floors in the kitchen and dining room was done.  The flooring was supposed to start being installed yesterday, but because we had a forecast of rain all day (and it did) the installers cancelled.  We've also manage to sell the old fridge, old dishwasher, and the old flooring on craigslist.

Kitchen Update #5

A lot of work completed over the past couple of days.  The half walls are in, 90% of electrical/lighting, 90% of cabinets (pantry is just sitting in place but not secured, and none of the trim is up), and old plumbing out (new not in yet).  Of course things take a little longer then expected thanks to surprises with the electrical...cut a hole for a light and find a waste pipe, find a copper pipe, find an HVAC pipe, find that the kitchenette area rafters are closer together then the kitchen rafters.  Working thru it though.

Volleyball

Emma and LWA lost their 1st volleyball game tonight.  They went down in 5 sets.  They were up in the final set but then kind of had a meltdown.  Played hard though.  She was not a happy camper!  A little Chic-Fil-A lemonade seemed to pick her up some.

Kitchen Update #4

The new opening is cut out between the kitchen and the dining room. I think it's going to be awesome!  Not much else visually, but ran thru where/how all the electric is going and all the new light placement (recessed, pendants, under counter).

Everything is out!  Stove, sink, window shelves, and floor.  I'll sleep good tonight!

Kitchen Update #2

We took most of the cabinets down today.  We got a bit of late start since we went to church this morning and then had a big Sunday breakfast (prob last time that stove gets used!).

We got the cabinet stuff packed away today.  Also took all the doors down and the back off the island cabinets.  Tomorrow = cabinets down!

Fire Pit

We enjoyed some hotdogs, brats, and smores over the fire pit tonight.  It was a nice cool evening with little wind so the smoke wasn't blowing in your face all the time.  We enjoyed the food and played a little 20 questions around the fire.  A good supper time.

Katelyn's Grief

Many tears and much wailing over the murder of Bob last night at Casa de Kenney. The wailing came from the 9 yr old, the murderer was the 5 y/o (he's claiming accidental death), and the victim? Katie's pet cricket. Yes, I said CRICKET!! (from Angie's facebook)
