Carpal Tunnel

I had a Orthopedic Dr. appointment today for my wrist pain. I mainly get it after a long day of work on the computer. Usually a dull aching pain from my wrist to about 1/2 way up my forearm. From that the Dr said I just had some tendon inflammation. As he was writing some stuff up I asked if that would cause a burning pain sensation at night in my wrist and forearm that sometimes wakes me up. He stopped and said, nope, that's carpal tunnel issues. So I got a fancy wrist brace to wear when it bothers me now. Something else for the VA claim I guess. LOL T.

Dinner

We had Bill Sprouse over for dinner last night. He's getting ready to leave WEC to go to CA to attend seminary school. Bill's a great guy and we wish him and his family the best of luck.

Godspeed Bill!

VBS

The kids are in VBS again this week. This is Nicholas' 1st one. He was a little apprehensive last night (1st night), but went right into his group tonight...didn't even look back to say goodbye to us!

Angie & I have enjoyed it as we've gone out to eat with Ernie & Anna both nights! T.

Emma's Home!

Emma's home safe and sound from camp! Sounds like she had a great time (especially on the 7-story water slide). I'll post her daily routine later.

As we were sitting in the family talking about her trip we heard a loud thump on the side of the house. Angie went out the back door and I went out the garage door to see what was going on. It was a duck! He flew into the side of the house and had knocked himself silly. We opened up our back gate and he wandered around the backyard for a bit. After about 10 minutes he must have cleared his head and was able to fly away. Crazy duck! T.

TGIF

It's almost Friday! Emma gets home tomorrow afternoon from camp. I can't wait to hear how things went!

We took Katelyn and Nicholas out to eat tonight for sort of a special treat since Emma is off to camp. They seemed to enjoy it.

No luck on getting insurance help on our squirrel invasion! They said they don't cover rodent damage. Bummer. T.

Monday

Monday back in the real world...

Emma left for camp (up in MD) this morning. Angie dropped her off at the church to load up in the vans. She was excited and ready to go. Hope she has a great time this week.

1st day back to work after 3 weeks of vacation...hard to get in the "work groove" again! Also had my medical records reviewed by AMVETS so I can get my VA claim going. T.

Welcome Home?

We made it home last night! Felt great to drive into the driveway. We then have a surprise for us when we walked in the house however. As we walked in the garage door and looked in the family room we saw one of my surround sound speakers knocked off the shelf above the fireplace onto the floor and the blinds were broke on one end and hanging.

When I walked into the living room the wood window frames were all torn up with wood shavings/pieces all over the floor.

When I went upstairs, Katelyn's blinds also had a broken string and hanging crooked. The window frames in Nicholas's room were also torn up and then finally in our room the window frames were torn up and one of our wooden shades was "chewed"

Yep, I said it...CHEWED up. As we continued to look around we started seeing little black droppings on the floor everywhere. I called a pest/rodent company and they told me it sounded like a squirrel and got in the house somehow. They told us to look behind bookcases and under sofa's/beds. After looking and cleaning nothing showed up (yeah!), so it must have made it back outside.

Nice welcome home huh? Other than that, it's great to be home! Now we just have to get things in order for family game day! T.

Emma update #2

It's official, Emma has a bad case of swimmers ear. I took her to the Dr. this morning because she was having bad pain last night and had some discharge out of the ear over night. No more underwater swimming for her for a week. Good thing today is our last day before heading back home! Hopefully it will clear up before she goes to camp on Monday. T.

Haircuts

The girls got their haircuts the other day. Both look really good, and Katelyn's has some wave in it now! Emma's is shorter in the back than the front and will be easy for her to take care of when she goes off to church camp next week. T.

Saturday Morning

Vacation is great! Another week has gone by too fast. What's on the agenda today...hmm...I think maybe a couple thrift stores with the girls (they like to go with me), a stop at the local fish store to get some fresh fish for tonight, and of course the pool (with some cold beverages to go with!). T.

Emma update

Looks like Emma was getting a molar vs. an ear infection. Part of it broke thru last night/early morning and she is doing much better today. Got in the pool and is back to her old self. T.

Pool Time

Lots of pool time the past couple of days. Katelyn and Nicholas mostly. Emma came down with swimmers ear or an ear infection and stayed out the pool all day yesterday. She's doing better today though.

Katelyn loves to do cannonballs, so the above is Nicholas's attempt at it. :)

4th of July weekend

Our vacation continues in Cape Coral with a great 4th of July weekend. Lots of pool time and relaxation. We went and watched fireworks at the town bridge. Yesterday Archie took us out on his sailboat. We went out to Sanibel Island and to the beginning of the Gulf of the Mexico. The water was that amazing sea green...very nice with the sun reflecting off of it. We saw dolphins swimming around us too! At one point a pair were right at the side of the boat...Emma & I were lucky and got a very good view of them before they went under the boat and left. We also anchored the boat at one point and Ang, the kids, and I walked ashore to a beach. Did a little shell hunting and enjoyed the warm water. The only negative - Ang & I are sunburned today!

Bye Bye Mickey

The Disney vacation is over...now on to relaxation! We had a great time and the kids were absolutely wonderful. The weather turned rainy on our Magic Kingdom day, but we still spent 12+ hours in the park doing everything. It was a great day, and Papa Archie and Grandma Karen were able to come spend the day too!

We spent our 4th day at Animal Kingdom; Katelyn loved the Safari ride. We were able to see lots of animals as we rode it 1st thing in the morning as they had just fed them. It rained for a while that morning too, but by the time we finished with lunch at Yak & Yeti's it was done.

We spent our last day at the hotel pool/slide and over at Downtown Disney. All in all it was a great time, but we've learned our kids are alot like us. We offered to take them to any of the parks again on the last day, but they said naahh...we'd rather swim in the pool! T.

Camping Trip

Nick & I got a camping trip in last weekend.  We went to Chickahominy Riverfront park over by Williamsburg.  The weather was nice and co...
