Kitchen Update #6

There's been a little lull in activity in the kitchen as far as big visible items go.  However, the walls have had another coating of mud on them, the stove electrical was run, and some leveling of the floors in the kitchen and dining room was done.  The flooring was supposed to start being installed yesterday, but because we had a forecast of rain all day (and it did) the installers cancelled.  We've also manage to sell the old fridge, old dishwasher, and the old flooring on craigslist.

  1. Things always go faster when the demo and the rough in is occuring. Unless they use hot mud the drywall finish takes awhile. I'm glad to see that you are leveling the floors. It will make a difference in instalation. Do you have your wood floors on site? If you do bring the material into the living room and let it aculimate to room temperature for a day or two at a minimum. If they just bring it in from the truck and start installing it you will end up with gaps and unnecessary movement. This is an important step especially when you have cool humid weather.
Gramps sure loves the Kenney Krewe and being a easy chair superintendent:)
