Our church (Waters Edge Church) announced this past weekend that they are opening a 4th campus (mobile this time) in Williamsburg and will be expanding the Yorktown campus! Amazing what God can do! WEC is doing this because the "optimum" church service times are at capacity. I know alot of people will struggle with the $ aspect of this growth, but let's ask a question. Is it important to make room? What if your neighbor, your co-worker, your aunt, or whoever comes to church one day and see's this...

and maybe under it in smaller letters it says "sorry, go to Hell". Is that ok? So why do we say ok, ok, ok when we talk about reaching people but when $ gets involved our tune tends to change? Things that make you say Hmmm.
When leadership in a church, after prayer, follows God prompting about pretty much anything including church expansion the funding always follows. God has a way of providing when He chooses to move. I think this is a good indicator of if He was in it and behind it or if the idea was strictly man made. The church I go to New Testament Christian Church was recently approach by The Crossing, a Quincy based church that is moving to Keokuk and is similar to WEC in size and growth. They wanted to join together and form one church in Keokuk rather than competing with each other as both churches are non denominational bible churches. The Crossing offered to provide funding for NTCC and guaranteed finances for the NTCC Christian School which could have used the help. The older people in the church voted it down with comments like "You don't have the right to change my church", or "This is my church and I want it to remain the size it is". The future will tell if God was in this or not but my bet is that He was right in the middle of it and NTCC missed a golden opportunity to do His work. The other part of your observation then is the faith part. Do we have the faith to move when God says so and expand the gospel or are we to afraid, stubborn, or just stuck in our comfort zone?
